Despite the flattering score line, Spartan Fc took the game
to their more illustrious opponents,
playing most of the first half as the better team and putting MFM Fc on the
back foot for most of the first period.
Against the run of play, Onuwa Chukwuka(10)
finished off a neat move to hand MFM the lead on the 11th minute with a
powerful deflected shot from outside the box that left goal keeper Adamu
helpless in the Spartan Goal.

the elusive second goal that never came.

With both teams tied at the break, MFM Fc resumed the second
half a much better side, gaining control of the middle of the park and
relegating Spartan Fc to long balls as their only outlet from defense. Spartan
Fc successfully held out for the first 25 minutes of the second half before
Shola Brossa(4) was upended in the box to gift MFM Fc a penalty which was duly
converted by Stanley Okorom in the 70 minute amidst protests from the opposing
side.
