Manchester City snap up another Nigerian

Initial feelers from sources close to the transfer nerve center have reported that Austria Wien striker, Kayode Olarenwaju(24 years), has just signed a FOUR year contract with Pep Guardiola led Manchester City.

The deal, believed to be struck at the last minute blindsided Newcastle United who were mooted as firm favourites to sign the in-form Nigerian who scored 17 league goals in 33 matches and 24 goals over all for Austria Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.

Reports suggest that Kayode will spend his first season on loan at Girona in Spain before linking up with his new team for the 2018/2019 season.

Opinions have been formed in different quarters about the Gombe United Vs Fabiyi saga that has waged on in the media sphere since the Match Day 19 rescheduled game against Rangers International Fc(see previous post for full analysis). Following scenes of violence(throwing of missiles) and crowd restiveness during the game, fans encroached the field of play at the final whistle, terrorizing home and away teams, and as has been largely spoken of in the media, Fabiyi Emmanuel, the goal keeper for Gombe United was accosted and gravely injured by his own fans.
